About the Card

Some people love a classic Happy Mother's Day card. Soft florals, a thoughtful message, and a quiet way to say thank you.

This floral Mother's Day card was inspired by the flowers that surrounded my grandma's home. Her garden was always blooming. Front yard, backyard, everywhere you looked there were flowers.

Pink was her favourite colour. It has never really been mine. But her house was filled with it.

This design features soft pink proteas, magnolias and flowering gum, along with Australian native foliage. I painted it around the time we knew she was nearing the end of her life.

Painting those flowers became a quiet way of honouring her.

Even though pink has never been my colour, painting it felt like holding onto something gentle and familiar.

If you are looking for a traditional floral Mother's Day card with a personal story behind it, this one may feel right.
